McMahons Point

A long drive down a dusty road from Wentworth Falls leads to this spectacular view of Lake Burragorang and the beautiful Blue Mountains. The short stroll from the carpark is easy to follow on foot but not wheelchair accessible.

Trees are burnt from last year’s bushfires but new leaves are popping up (this is called epicormic growth but I call it the trees putting on their pyjamas).

We also stopped at Battleship Tops on the way back. This is a significant place for Gundungurra people. Unfortunately rock paintings here have been destroyed.

Plenty of flannel flowers and the fattest gum leaves you have ever seen. My son thinks the cicadas sound like hair clippers.
