Rock Lily Walking Track

The Rock Lily Walking Track is a short stroll beside Wollombi Brook, starting and ending at the Basin Campsite in the Olney State Forest, NSW.

This is an easy, mostly flat, 1.5km walk, with occasional steep slippery sections.

Due to the large variety of fungi we encountered, my five year old son called it the Fungus Walking Track instead. If you can identify any of the types of fungus or plants, please let me know.

The Basin Campsite

This is a free campsite within the Olney State Forest. Amenities include fire places, pit toilets, and water tank. The majority of this campsite is sloped so it may be difficult to find a suitable place to pitch a tent if the campsite is busy. The location is down in a hollow beside Wollombi Brook so it doesn’t get much sun and tends to be damp. This is one of the campsites along the Great North Walk.
